Bayside Bows

Majestic ‘boat-bowed’ roof forms appearing to glide across the land are the first impression of this residence.  While the “signature” cantilevered splayed roofs give the appearance of piercing the bay below, the home is nestled into the site and lowered from the road to provide client privacy.

The geometric plan hinges around the nucleus of the kitchen and shapes the programmatic zoning of the home with magnificent views from all living spaces.  Sweeping, sheltered decks spanned with double glazing provide transparency between indoors and outdoors while the soaring triangulated west-facing roof plane provides shelter from coastal breezes.  A sculptural and sustainable solution to the site’s challenging
