Designed and subsequently constructed by the principal of Clever Design, Mike Cleaver, the Clever House is a prototype that reveals a pragmatic, yet innovative complexity. Contemporary design methodologies fused with the designer’s high level of ‘bygone’ craftsmanship skills and extensive building and design experience have created a residence characterised by meticulous detail. The use of diverse materials and expressionist forms, challenges conventional thinking. The solutions for energy efficiency are also evidenced in the performance of the home.
