Q-Two House

The quarry and the poetics of the rugged landscape have inspired this light-suffused, innovative and contemporary home.  Characterised by dramatic slices into the land and tall eucalypts,

Q-Two house is born, anchored into the quarry in a bunker-like fashion.  The highly structural five bedroom home features reclining angled structural columns with an alternating rhythm of low-e double glazing and massive textured sandstone retaining walls to secure the building firmly into the site.

The expressive folded quarry house is an exemplar of how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into architecture without determining the overall aesthetics.
